Fifth-grade students from all Inver Grove Heights Schools elementary buildings get ready to take on middle school with a day of fun and teamwork at Fifth-Grade Track and Field Day. The annual event aims to introduce students from different schools to each other and give them an idea of the opportunities that await them at Inver Grove Heights Middle School. It also gives students a chance to get outside and celebrate their graduation from elementary school.
Students from Hilltop Elementary School, Pine Bend Elementary School, Salem Hills Elementary School, and the Atheneum Gifted Magnet Program participated in track and field events at Simley High School’s Spartan Stadium. They tried long jump, discus, relays, sprints, and long distance events with the help of Simley High School Track and Field athletes. Fifth graders had a great time getting active in different events of their choice and cheering on their classmates.
After having their own track and field day, fifth-grade students will help run K-4 Fun Day events for kindergarten through fourth-grade students at their own elementary schools later this year.
Los estudiantes de quinto grado de todos los edificios de primaria de Inver Grove Heights Schools se preparan para enfrentarse a la escuela intermedia con un día de diversión y trabajo en equipo en el Día de Atletismo de Quinto Grado. El evento anual tiene como objetivo presentar a los estudiantes de diferentes escuelas entre sí y darles una idea de las oportunidades que les esperan en Inver Grove Heights Middle School. También les da a los estudiantes la oportunidad de salir y celebrar su graduación de la escuela primaria.
Los estudiantes de Hilltop Elementary School, Pine Bend Elementary School, Salem Hills Elementary School, and Atheneum Gifted Magnet Program participaron en eventos de atletismo en el Estadio Spartan de Simley High School. Probaron salto de longitud, disco, relevos, carreras de velocidad y eventos de larga distancia con la ayuda de los atletas de Simley. Los alumnos de quinto grado se divirtieron mucho participando activamente en diferentes eventos de su elección y animando a sus compañeros de clase.
Después de tener su propio día de atletismo, los estudiantes de quinto grado ayudarán a organizar los eventos para estudiantes de kindergarten a cuarto grado en sus propias escuelas primarias a finales de este año.
