Enrolling Students in Kindergarten
Inver Grove Heights Schools offers free all-day kindergarten.

Minnesota requirements for kindergarten entrance are:
Child must be 5 years of age by September 1 of the year they will start kindergarten.
Child must have all required immunizations to enter school (unless parents have filed a medical exemption signed by a healthcare provider or a notarized conscientious objection signed by the parent/guardian).
Child must have early childhood screening before starting kindergarten. Appointments can be any time between age 3 and the start of kindergarten, but it is recommended screening be completed before the age of 4. Screenings are done at the Inver Grove Heights Early Learning Center at 3203 68th St East (next to Hilltop Elementary).

Child must have accepted identification. Please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate, or other verification of his/her legal name and birth date when registering your child for ISD 199 schools.

If you live in our district and your child of kindergarten age will not be attending Inver Grove Heights Schools, please call 651-306-7101.

If you have not already enrolled your student, please complete all materials and return them to them to the district office as soon as possible. Students are placed in classrooms as space is available, on a first-come, first-served basis.
If your child is to be picked up at an address other than his or her home address (for example, daycare) be sure to complete that portion on the enrollment form.
