Eligibility Testing

ATHENEUM ELIGIBILITY TESTING

The Atheneum Gifted Magnet program has an eligibility testing process that consists of two different types of assessments.  Read on for more information about testing appointments.

What does the Atheneum eligibility testing process entail?

Two different types of assessments are required for Atheneum.  Two achievement tests are required (reading and math) and one ability test.

How do I complete the assessments needed for Atheneum?

ISD 199 offers appointments on select dates for out-of-district families to complete the assessments for Atheneum eligibility testing.

When will testing appointments begin?

Testing appointments will be made available in January 2023 for students interested in enrolling in Atheneum for the 2023-2024 school year.

How do I sign up for a testing appointment?

After filling out the Atheneum application, you will receive an email with more information and links to sign up for eligibility testing.

How much do testing appointments cost?

Assessment fees for out-of-district families are $25/assessment.  Only cash and checks payable to ISD 199 are accepted and are due prior to the testing appointment.

What if I took assessments at my current school?

All assessments must be administered during the current school year and submitted by the application deadline (March 17, 2023) to be considered for potential placement.  If your child has taken one or more of the assessments at their current school, you may submit a score report and you do NOT need to schedule a testing appointment.

Where do the testing appointments take place?

Testing appointments for Atheneum take place at ISD 199's District Office, which is located at 2990 80th St. East in Inver Grove Heights.

How long do the testing appointments last?

Appointments for each assessment last approximately two hours.
