Inver Grove Heights Middle School Announcements

Each year we want to find new and improved opportunities for our students to experience many different things outside of the normal classroom curriculum. In order to help us bring these opportunities to life, we need your help. We are hosting an online fundraiser this fall through Give to the Max Day. Please click on the following link to donate to IGHMS. You can donate any dollar amount that works within your budget.
Give to the Max 2023
A few ways we hope to use the donated funds will be:
-6th grade rockets - one for each student
-8th grade end of year celebration
-Transportation costs for any possible field trips
-Guest speakers to come into our school
All money will be put into the IGHMS Excellence Fund to be used strictly for the enrichment of our students.

¡Hola familias de IGHMS!
Cada año queremos encontrar nuevas y mejores oportunidades para que nuestros estudiantes experimenten muchas cosas diferentes fuera del currículo normal del aula. Con el fin de ayudarnos a llevar estas oportunidades a la vida, necesitamos su ayuda. Estamos organizando una recaudación de fondos en línea este otoño a través de Give To The Max Day. Por favor, haga clic en el siguiente enlace para donar a IGHMS. Puedes donar cualquier cantidad que se ajuste a tu presupuesto.
Algunas de las formas en que esperamos utilizar los fondos donados serán:
-Cohetes de 6º grado - uno para cada estudiante
-Celebración de fin de curso de 8º curso
-Gastos de transporte para posibles excursiones
-Oradores invitados a nuestra escuela
Todo el dinero se destinará al Fondo de Excelencia IGHMS que se utilizará estrictamente para el enriquecimiento de nuestros estudiantes.
Día "Give to the Max" 2023
Co-Ed High School Bowling- Congratulations to Simley JV Red for qualifying for the State Tournament. The team consists of Jacob Kranz, Kaden Darrow, Keonna McFarland, Liban Van Leer, Lily Murphy, and Nadia Van Leer. The JV State Tournament will be held Sunday, November 19th. Good luck to the team.
Congratulations to Simley Varsity for finishing in 2nd place at the Conference Tournament. Also, congratulations for earning a spot in the Varsity State Tournament. The team consists of Brooke O'Brien, Carter Vitch, David Olson, Shane Gorr, Skyler DeWall, and Zach Howe. The State Tournament will be held Saturday, November 18th. Good luck to the team!

Congratulations to Keonna McFarland, Marissa Mausolf, and Shane Gorr for receiving All Honors.

Students for Change is looking for members! All grades are welcome to apply. SFC is looking for: students who are problem solvers, students who are listeners, who want to learn to lead, and who want to be part of a team that works together to help the school and community. Applications are now being accepted. Ask your teachers to show you the video in advisory or look for posters around the school, and scan the QR code with your iPad. The application will close on November 17th.
¡Estudiantes por el Cambio está buscando miembros! Todos los grados son bienvenidos a postularse. SFC está buscando: estudiantes que solucionen problemas, estudiantes que escuchen, que quieran aprender a liderar y que quieran ser parte de un equipo que trabaje en conjunto para ayudar a la escuela y a la comunidad. Like to swim? The Boys’ Swimming & Diving (6th-12th) starts Monday, Nov. 27th. No one “sits on the bench” during meets and there are no cuts from the team. Parents and Guardians- Attendance Notification News!
We now have an ATTENDANCE EMAIL. Parents/Guardians, you can now use email to notify IGHMS about student absences.
Please email us at [email protected]. Please make sure to add your students name, grade, and the reason for the absence. These emails can only come from the legal parent/guardians listed in Campus.
If preferred, parents and guardians can still call the attendance line at 651-306-7878.

Ya tenemos un CORREO ELECTRÓNICO DE ASISTENCIA. Padres/tutores, ahora pueden usar el correo electrónico para notificar a IGHMS sobre las ausencias de los estudiantes.

Dear Parents & Families of School District 199 Students in Grades K-8,
All middle school students must be accompanied by an adult to sports events. Any student not accompanied by an adult will be turned away at the door.
