Seniors - Today is the LAST day to turn in a panoramic picture order to the main office. 
Cross Country will be having a Fundraiser @ IGH Brewery on Monday, 10/16.  Enjoy dinner out and a percentage of sales benefit Simley Cross Country.
Interested in joining the 2023-2024 Winter Competitive Dance Team? Winter Competitive Team tryouts will take place on Monday, October 23rd from 5:30-6:30pm & 6:45-7:45pm and on Tuesday, October 24th from 3:45-4:45 pm. Team Placement will take place on Tuesday, October 24th after the first practice. If you are currently in grades 6-12, you are welcome to try out. If you are interested in exploring career options in a variety of fields and pathways, join us for the Career Connect fair on October 17th! This career fair is open to grades 10-12 and is held at St. Paul River Center in St. Paul. Take advantage of this great opportunity to talk to employers and learn about future careers. Spots are limited, so pick-up a permission slip in the Student Center today! 
North Dakota State College of Science and Concordia Moorhead will be here Wednesday and U of M Twin Cities and University of Iowa will be here on Thursday. Scan the QR codes around the student center to sign-up! 
On Saturday, Oct. 7th the Simley XC teams hosted 18 other high schools and 2 additional middle schools for the annual Simley Invite. On a near perfect day, the Spartans produced 11 personal best times, 1 additional season best time, and 7 of the Spartans raced their best times ever on the course.  The largest personal best times came from 9th Grader Will Klos with a 3 minute improvement, 7th Grader Annaleigh Schwab by 2 minutes, Junior Zoe Diaz by 41 seconds, and senior JJ Salas by 33 seconds. Schwab’s time of 21:50 makes her the 7th fastest runner in school history.  The Spartans had 3 top 6 individual finishes – Nik Abrahamson and Megan Gullerud each finished 3rd, and Abi Lindquist was 6th. The Girls Team finished 4th with 103 points. The boys team was 8th with 215 points.  The Spartans next race will be Tuesday, Oct. 18th at the Metro East Conference Championships.
With winter approaching, Football will be hosting a blanket drive at their home game on October 12th.  If you would like to participate, please bring a gently used blanket to the game.  Collection boxes will be at the front entrance. Blankets will be donated to the homeless and encampments throughout the twin cities.
If you are interested in joining the Simley Baseball program, there will be an informational player/parent meeting at 7pm in the Spartan Center on October 11. Stop by room WA225 if you have any questions.
Now is a great time to start thinking about the upcoming Holiday season. Like to swim? The Boys’ Swimming & Diving M.S. H.S. teams are having a short Informational MEETING on Tuesday. Oct. 10th at 3:45 p.m. in *Middle School lunchroom* The teams are open to all boys 6-12th grade. This meeting is a chance to meet the team and coaches and get all the paperwork your son will need to join a school sport.  The Boys’ Swimming & Diving Season is a winter sport and begins Monday, Nov. 27th. NOTE: this meeting is for the athletes.   Parents are more than welcome to attend, but they do not need to attend this meeting.  There is a parent’s meeting scheduled for Nov. 28th.  To get more specific information about the season (practice & meet schedules and calendars) please email Coach Lynn Newton at [email protected]

Simley Boys Basketball will be holding a preseason meeting for both parents and students (9th – 12th) on Monday Oct. 30th from 6pm- 6:30pm at the Spartan Center.  If you plan to try out for the 23-24 season, please plan to attend.
