Did you enjoy the Color Run this past Friday? Are you looking for a fall sport? The Simley Cross Country team is having an informational meeting this Wednesday, May 24th at 6 p.m. in the Student Center for new and returning athletes. Contact Coach Gerber if you have any questions.
For the second year in a row the girls track and field team competed at the AA True Team State Track and Field Meet. The girls earned several personal records and had one event champion. The meet provided one last tune up before the Conference and Section Meets in the next couple of weeks.
Top Finishers:
- Ayisat Adebayo - 1st in the Triple Jump, 7th in the 100*, 9th in the 200
- 4x100: Naomi Moore, Alice Islam, Taylor Ralston, Ayisat Adebayo - 3rd
- Naomi Moore - 4th in 100 Hurdles and 6th in the 300 Hurdles
- Natalie DePalma - 6th in the Discus and 9th in the Triple Jump
- Abi Lindquist - 6th in the 3200*
- Megan Gullerud - 7th in the 1600
- 4x200: Alice Islam, Laura Bosin, Emmi Hocking, Taylor Ralston - 9th
*Abi's time of 11:55.6 in the 3200 is 4th in school history. Ayisat's time of 12.96 in the 100 is 5th in school history, and Alice Islam ran a 13.13 in the 100 which puts her at number 10 in school history.
The Weight Room is Closed Fridays for the rest of the School year.
