The Weight Room is closed today.
The Asian American Alliance is hosting an AAPI Celebration on Monday May 15th after school in the Spartan Center.  Bring your favorite Asian dish to share.  All are welcome.
Oak Glen Golf Course cut down over 100 mighty oaks to make room for the mighty Spartans at the Metro East Mid-Conference tournament on Thursday, May 4th. Although the Simley Boys golfers could not make a strong enough run at eventual champion Mahtomedi (conference leaders coming into the event) or Hastings, the Spartans bested perennially strong performers St. Thomas Academy and Hill-Murray along with the remaining Metro East teams for a dazzling third place finish with the best 18-hole team score of the season – 306 – tying the 2nd best all-time 18-hole score in Simley golf history. In the same vein, Junior Justin Orn shot the 2nd best individual score of all-time bringing home a 2-under par 70 and a bushel of conference points. Junior Jake Stanton broke through with his best score of the young season – a steady 76 with a couple of birdies and nothing worse than a bogey. Seniors Caden Renslow and Joey Stanton and Sophomore Eli Boone each shot 80 to cement the Spartan’s third place finish by six strokes. Senior Carl Lane also finished in the 80’s to round out the scoring for Simley’s wonderful finish on a wonderful day filled with wonderful shots and wonderful putts.
The track and field team sent a smaller crew to Hill-Murray to compete in a triangular meet against Hill and North. The group who competed worked hard and earned many personal bests. Hunter Collins was the lone event champion of the day.

Top Three Finishers for the Team:

  • Hunter Collins - 1st in the Discus and 2nd in the Shot Put
  • Colin Fischbach - 2nd in the 1600
  • Tavon Franklin - 2nd in the Long Jump
