Congrats to the Wrestling team for making history in Minnesota becoming the 1st ever to qualify all 14 weights at the State Tournament and Charli Raymond being the 15th qualifier. They will Wrestle on Thursday at the Xcel Center. There will be a sent off to the State Tournament on Wednesday 3/1 at 6pm. Everyone please join us-Bring your signs, noice makers and support to send these wrestlers off in style!
The four Simley gymnasts of Lucy Penttila, Alexa Lynner, Ashley Lynner, and Emerson Hocking did a great job of competing at the State tournament on Saturday night!  Thanks for the encouraging fan support!  Congratulations to Lucy Penttila for placing 8th in the State on Bars. We are breaking the equipment down today after school if anyone needs volunteer hours and we would love the help.

If you're a student considering any of the four TriDistrict/CAPS courses for next year, you should attend the interest meeting to learn more and hear next steps tomorrow, Tuesday, 2/28 during 3rd hour.  If you're a student considering any of the DCTC/917 courses for next year, you should attend the interest meeting to learn more on Wednesday, 3/1 during 2nd hour.  Students can get a pass for either meeting by signing up in Ms. Kimble's office or here: https://bit.ly/careerpaths23


The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be offered at Simley on March 7th, the same day as the ACT. This test is required if you are planning to enlist in any branch of the military. Even if you aren't planning on a military pathway, the ASVAB provides excellent career exploration tools. If you're a junior, you can switch from the ACT to the ASVAB.  If you are a sophomore or senior, you are welcome to come in on the 7th and take the ASVAB- just sign-up with Ms. Kimble. 


Congratulations to the Boys Swimming 7 Diving team for their 4th place finish at Sections last weekend. Point scorers were: Glenn Rubendall placed 13th in the 200 free & 10th in the 100 Fly; Vincent Evangelista placed 11th in the 200 IM & 9th in the 100 back; Fernando Madrid Pina placed 10th in the 1-meter diving; Haydn Geffre placed 12th in the 500 free; Shilah Smolinski placed 13th in the 500 free; Lucas McMonigal placed 10th in the 200 IM & won the 7th place medal in the 100 Breaststroke; Christian Jack won the 7th place medal in the 200 IM & 11th place in the back; Marioys Makar won the 5th place medal in the 1-meter diver; Ethan Gregg placed 10th in the 50 free & won the 7th place medal in the fly; Hunter Collins placed 12th in the 100 free & won the 4thplace medal in the 100 Breaststroke; John Tabor won the 5th place medal in the 200 free & the 4th place medal in the 500 free. The team of Vincent Evangelista, Lucas McMonigal, Will Foster, and Carter Kline won the 6thplace medals in the 200 Medley Relay; the team of Ethan Gregg, Hunter Collins, Lucas McMonigal, and John Tabor won the 6th place medal in the 200 Free relay; and the team of Ethan Gregg, Christian Jack, Hunter Collins, and John Tabor won the 7th place medal in the 400 Free relay.   A special Congratulations to John Tabor for qualifying for the State Meet this weekend in both the 200 free and 500 Free.

8th Grade Parent Night
Save the date for 8th Grade Parent Night on Wednesday, February 22. Free Open Skate Event - March 10

Stop by Veterans Memorial Community Center on Friday, March 10, for a FREE Open Skate event for families in Inver Grove Heights and ISD 199 schools! Inver Grove Heights Parks and Recreation and IGH SPARC will host the event from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Event details: www.ighsparc.org/events/sparc-open-skate
Dakota Soccer Club is looking for a few more male soccer players for summer 2023!!  Players from the following birth years are needed: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. We currently have teams at these ages but just need a few more players to fill out the rosters. The DSC competitive soccer program officially begins in March (but some teams are training now) with indoor training and runs through June. Practices are held indoors 1 to 2 times a week for March-April, and then move outside during May-June (up to 2-3 times per week). Summer schedule includes 8 to 10 games. Costs range from U9-U10 ($360), U11-U14 ($515), U15+ ($575) plus uniform costs.  For more information or to register, visit www.dakotasc.org.

Did you know that breakfast is free for all students everyday?  While we have returned to paying for lunch, breakfast is still free for everyone.  Stop by the to-go cart in the commons or go directly to the cafeteria each day before school to pick up your breakfast and feed your brain for the morning.  If you need help paying for lunch, please complete the educational benefits application, which can be done on the parent portal or on a form found in the guidance office.

Bus Drivers Needed! ISD 199 is looking for more bus drivers and bus driver subs! Before and after school shifts are available, 4 hours per day are guaranteed, up to $23.25 per hour plus paid training, and full benefits at 25 hours per week. Learn more and apply at www.isd199.org/careers
