This week is Snow Week. The dress up days for the week are:

  • Monday: Zoom Day (fancy on the top and comfy on the bottom)
  • Tuesday: Teacher/Student Swap Day
  • Wednesday: Beach Vs. Blizzard (wear your best summer or winter attire)
  • Thursday: Class Color Day (9th grade white, 10th grade red, 11th grade blue, 12th Black)

Dance will be Friday from 6:30-9:30 pm in the cafeteria.  Tickets are on sale now.  To buy a ticket go to gofan.co and search Simley High School. You can also scan the QR Code on the posters put up around the school. Tickets are $5 and will be $10 the day of the dance. Doors will close at 7:30, so please arrive within an hour of the start of the dance.
Do you have any photos of you and your friends at school events? School events include: dances, sports, band and choir concerts, theater events, club events, classes, and anything else associated with Simley. Please email any photos you have to Ms. Hensch ASAP for the Yearbook. We want all students to be represented in the yearbook. 


Congratulations to the Boys Swimming & Diving team for their 2nd place finish at the Hibbing Invitational on Saturday.  Medal winners were: John Tabor placed 2nd in the 200 free & 3rd in the 500 free; Glenn Rubendall placed 4th in the 200 free & 7th in the 100 fly; Christian Jack placed 2nd in the 200 IM & 4th in the 100 back; Vincent Evangelista placed 6th place in the 200 IM and 6th in the 100 back; Marioys Makar placed 2nd in the 1-meter diving; Carter Kline placed 6th in the 1-meter diving; Ethan Gregg placed 5th in the 100 fly; and Hunter Collins placed 6th in the 100 breaststroke. The team of Vincent Evangelista, Hunter Collins, Ethan Gregg, and Christian Jack placed 5th in the 200 Medley Relay; the team of Will Foster, Glenn Rubendall, Lucas McMonigal, and John Tabor placed 6th in the 200 Free Relay; the team of Glenn Rubendall, Christian Jack, Shilah Smolinski, and Vincent Evangelista placed 6th in the 400 Free Relay; and the team of Hunter Collins, Ethan Gregg, Lucas McMonigal, and John Tabor placed 4th in the 400 Free Relay. 


Choir will be selling carnations for $3 and roses for $5 to be delivered on Valentines Day. Orders can be placed Today and Tomorrow.. 


Starting to think about getting a job for the spring or summer? You're in luck! Gerten's Greenhouse will be here on Wednesday, February 8th at 10:30 AM to talk with students about a variety of job opportunities and their upcoming hiring events. To learn more and sign-up, see Ms. Kimble in the Student Center. 


An admissions representative from University of WI- River Falls will be here on Thursday, February 9th. There will be a UWRF information session at 9:25 AM that is open for all to attend. Starting at 10:20 AM, seniors are invited to participate in a UWRF On-the-Spot Admissions event. Here, you'll complete a short interview and find out on-the-spot if you're admitted to the college. This will exempt you from writing the essay portion of the application and help finalize your plan for next year! To sign-up for the information session or sign-up for a time slot for the On-the-Spot event, see Ms. Kimble!

Attention all AP students:

If you did not register to take your AP exam and you wish you would have, you are in luck! 

We will be re-opening AP exam registration until February 5th. This is one final opportunity to register to take your AP exam, so take advantage and get signed up. Parents can sign up and pay for exams in their parent portal.

ISD 199 Winter Weather Procedures

ISD 199 will have two weather-related non-school days before Flex Learning days are declared and students continue classwork from home. On the third Snow or Cold Day of the school year, Flex Learning days will begin. Click here for information about Flex Learning Days.

School closures will be announced in an automated phone call, texts to families who have opted into receiving text messages, a post on the district website and social media accounts, and announcements through local television and radio stations. Dakota Soccer Club is looking for a few more male soccer players for summer 2023!!  Players from the following birth years are needed: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. We currently have teams at these ages but just need a few more players to fill out the rosters. The DSC competitive soccer program officially begins in March (but some teams are training now) with indoor training and runs through June. Practices are held indoors 1 to 2 times a week for March-April, and then move outside during May-June (up to 2-3 times per week). Summer schedule includes 8 to 10 games. Costs range from U9-U10 ($360), U11-U14 ($515), U15+ ($575) plus uniform costs.  For more information or to register, visit www.dakotasc.org.

Did you know that breakfast is free for all students everyday?  While we have returned to paying for lunch, breakfast is still free for everyone.  Stop by the to-go cart in the commons or go directly to the cafeteria each day before school to pick up your breakfast and feed your brain for the morning.  If you need help paying for lunch, please complete the educational benefits application, which can be done on the parent portal or on a form found in the guidance office.

Bus Drivers Needed! ISD 199 is looking for more bus drivers and bus driver subs! Before and after school shifts are available, 4 hours per day are guaranteed, up to $23.25 per hour plus paid training, and full benefits at 25 hours per week. Learn more and apply at www.isd199.org/careers
