Simley has opened its first Writing Center! We have experienced writers and trained tutors who can offer help on any writing assignment. Whether you're experiencing writer's block, don't know where to start, or have completed a draft, our tutors are here to help. Sign up for an appointment using the QR code on posters around the school. If you have any questions, contact Ms. Ney.
Snow Week is February 6-10th
. The dress up days for the week are:

  • Monday: Zoom Day (fancy on the top and comfy on the bottom)
  • Tuesday: Teacher/Student Swap Day
  • Wednesday: Beach Vs. Blizzard (wear your best summer or winter attire)
  • Thursday: Class Color Day (9th grade white, 10th grade red, 11th grade blue, 12th Black)

The Snowball Dance will be Friday February 10th from 6:30-9:30. Dance tickets will be sold online through GoFan.

2023 Seniors, this is your final reminder to send your senior photo in for the Yearbook. All senior photos and quotes are due February 1st. This is the final deadline. Click HERE for all senior information.


Calling on  ALL Parents we are having an ALL NIGHT SENIOR PARTY kick off meeting to start planning for the All Night party for the Class of 2023!  This is open to ALL High School Parents. Underclassman parents are encouraged to get involved so senior parents can enjoy their final days with their graduates.

Attention all AP students:

If you did not register to take your AP exam and you wish you would have, you are in luck! 

We will be re-opening AP exam registration until February 5th. This is one final opportunity to register to take your AP exam, so take advantage and get signed up. Parents can sign up and pay for exams in their parent portal. 

There will be an ACT Prep Class at Simley Wednesdays from Feb 1 to Mar 8, 5:45-8:45 pm.  All juniors will have the opportunity to take the ACT, free of charge, on March 7, 2023. Students will register for the exam in their English class a few weeks prior to the exam.  This affordable ACT preparatory course helps students perform their very best. ISD 199 Winter Weather Procedures

ISD 199 will have two weather-related non-school days before Flex Learning days are declared and students continue classwork from home. On the third Snow or Cold Day of the school year, Flex Learning days will begin. Click here for information about Flex Learning Days.

School closures will be announced in an automated phone call, texts to families who have opted into receiving text messages, a post on the district website and social media accounts, and announcements through local television and radio stations. Did you see the robot at lunch last week? The robotics team has just officially started there season this past weekend. Join us to see what it's all about! From programming and building to marketing and electronics, we have something for everyone. All are welcome, no experience necessary. Meet after school in EA-109.
Free Community Event on February 1

IGH families and neighbors are invited to the IGH Spartan Prevention, Advocacy, and Resource Coalition’s free community event featuring motivational speaker Cory Greenwood on February 1! Cory's funny, heartfelt stories are a great way for families to connect about mental health, decision-making, and more. Click here for event details.

Did you know that breakfast is free for all students everyday?  While we have returned to paying for lunch, breakfast is still free for everyone.  Stop by the to-go cart in the commons or go directly to the cafeteria each day before school to pick up your breakfast and feed your brain for the morning.  If you need help paying for lunch, please complete the educational benefits application, which can be done on the parent portal or on a form found in the guidance office.

  
Bus Drivers Needed! ISD 199 is looking for more bus drivers and bus driver subs! Before and after school shifts are available, 4 hours per day are guaranteed, up to $23.25 per hour plus paid training, and full benefits at 25 hours per week. Learn more and apply at www.isd199.org/careers
