Are you looking for something to do this winter (December thru April) and are not participating in any winter athletics or programs? Do you like computer programming and coding? How about designing a web page, T-shirt or a logo? Maybe you like pneumatics, drive trains and welding and designing a vehicle? If you said yes to any of these, maybe FIRST Robotics is for you. The season officially starts Jan 7th with a world wide broadcast of what this year's tasks will be. We will meet in room EA109 from 3:30 to 5:30 and every other Saturday from 8:00 to 3:00. No experience necessary, just the willingness to learn, have fun and be part of a team.  If you are interested but cannot make the meeting, Call 651-306-7110, e-mail [email protected] or stop by Mr. Fisher's room and let him know.

The gymnastics team improved its record last night by winning their meet, Simley 133.425 vs. SSP 110.650.  The Spartan's overall total is another season's best!  Outstanding finishers were:

Alexa Lynner -3rd on Bars and Floor

Ashley Lynner - 1st on Floor, 2nd Vault, Bars and in the All-Around, and 3rd on beam

Emerson Hocking - 3rd on Vault and in the All-Around, 2nd on Beam and Floor 

Lucy Pentiila - 1st on Vault, Bars, Beam, and All-Around scoring her personal best of 35.100

 

The Boys Swimming & Diving team won their meet against South St Paul last night by winning 11 of the 12 events.  Individual wins were; Lucas McMonigal won the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle;   John Tabor won the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 freestyle; Hunter Collins won the 50 freestyle; Marioys Makar won the 1-meter diving; Christian Jack won the 100 butterfly; and Hayden Geffre won the 100 backstroke. The team of Christain Jack, Hunter Collins, Ethan Gregg, and John Tabor won the 200 Medley Relay; the team of Christian Jack, Vincent Evangelista, Glenn Rubendall, and Lucas McMonigal won the 200 Free Relay, and the team of Lucas McMonigal, Hunter Collins, John Tabor, and Ethan Gregg won the 400 Free Relay.  The Spartans next meet is the Maroon & Gold Invitational at 10:45 a.m. this Saturday at the U of Minnesota.

ISD 199 Winter Weather Procedures

ISD 199 will have two weather-related non-school days before Extended Learning days are declared and students continue classwork from home. On the third Snow or Cold Day of the school year, Extended Learning days will begin. Click here for information about Extended Learning Days.

 

School closures will be announced in an automated phone call, texts to families who have opted into receiving text messages, a post on the district website and social media accounts, and announcements through local television and radio stations. Free Community Event on February 1

IGH families and neighbors are invited to the IGH Spartan Prevention, Advocacy, and Resource Coalition’s free community event featuring motivational speaker Cory Greenwood on February 1! Did you know that breakfast is free for all students everyday?  While we have returned to paying for lunch, breakfast is still free for everyone.  Stop by the to-go cart in the commons or go directly to the cafeteria each day before school to pick up your breakfast and feed your brain for the morning.  If you need help paying for lunch, please complete the educational benefits application, which can be done on the parent portal or on a form found in the guidance office.

 
Reminder-Blankets are not allowed to be worn at school for health and safety reasons.  Students are encouraged to dress in layers as some learning spaces vary in temperature.
