The gymnastics team had a tough meet last night but they are closing the gap with Mahtomedi.

Join the Asian American Alliance at our first meeting on Tuesday, December 13th at 8am in Ms. Austin's classroom WA 106.  Come learn and celebrate the Asian communities we have at Simley!  All are welcome!

 

Have you ever thought about a career as a firefighter? The IGH Fire Department Fire Exploring program is open and accepting participants! The program offers experiential learning with exciting, hands-on activities that help you gain insight into what it takes to pursue a career in firefighting. Exploring offers 5 areas of emphasis: career opportunities, leadership experience, life skills, citizenship, and character education. Interested in learning more about the program and career potential? Join the IGH Fire Department in the Student Center on Thursday, December 15th at 10 AM. Sign-up with Ms. Kimble in the Student Center. 

 

Interested in the Navy as a potential pathway after graduation? Come learn about benefits, requirements, education and training, career opportunities, and more from Navy recruiters. The information session will be held on Tuesday, December 13th at 11:15 AM. 

 

Attention German Club, International Club, and Student Council, if you are interested in attending the St. Paul European Christmas Market on Saturday, December 17, you can pick up a permission slip from your club advisor.  Please turn in your permission slip by Monday, December 12.   

 

Students can purchase a Yearbook now by going to www.buytheyearbook.com and using the school code 709734. The price increases on January 1st. Seniors, the Yearbook team also needs photos and information from you by February 1st. Check your school email for more information. This deadline will not be extended again.

ISD 199 Winter Weather Procedures

ISD 199 will have two weather-related non-school days before Extended Learning days are declared and students continue classwork from home. On the third Snow or Cold Day of the school year, Extended Learning days will begin. Click here for information about Extended Learning Days.

 

School closures will be announced in an automated phone call, texts to families who have opted into receiving text messages, a post on the district website and social media accounts, and announcements through local television and radio stations. Visit www.isd199.org or www.isd199.org/parents/emergency_closings to learn more.
Attention seniors: Lunch release and study hall release forms for trimester 2 have been emailed to your parents.  Once your parents have submitted the forms, they will be reviewed by the counselors.  If you qualify for release, you may pick up your release card from the main office.

Did you know that breakfast is free for all students everyday?  While we have returned to paying for lunch, breakfast is still free for everyone.  Stop by the to-go cart in the commons or go directly to the cafeteria each day before school to pick up your breakfast and feed your brain for the morning.  
If you need help paying for lunch, please complete the educational benefits application, which can be done on the parent portal or on a form found in the guidance office.

Seniors, the deadline is approaching to order your cap and gown for graduation. Schedule your senior meeting with your counselor so you do not miss this deadline.
Reminder-Blankets are not allowed to be worn at school for health and safety reasons.  Students are encouraged to dress in layers as some learning spaces vary in temperature.

Bus Drivers Needed! ISD 199 is looking for more bus drivers and bus driver subs! Before and after school shifts are available, 4 hours per day are guaranteed, up to $23.25 per hour plus paid training, and full benefits at 25 hours per week. Learn more and apply at www.isd199.org/careers
