Attention all boys 9th-12th grade interested in playing high school hockey this season. There will be a brief meeting Sunday, November 6th @ 6:00pm to discuss tryouts and the upcoming season.  Also a reminder that captains practices started Monday, October 31st and run Monday-Friday for two weeks from 4:00-5:20pm. Registration with the  BLC and School Infinite Campus (includes a current physical) are required to participate. Email Coach Kryzer ([email protected]) for more information.

 

Attention all girls and boys that are interested in joining the Simley Wrestling team. There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 2nd at 3:30PM in the High School Cafeteria. This meeting will cover all aspects of the 2022-23 wrestling season. If you have any questions see Coach Short or Coach Kissling for more information.

Attention girls interested in joining the Simley Spartan gymnastics team, please attend a meeting after school on Wednesday, November 2.  Please meet Coach Walsh by the High school North gym. 

Girls High School Basketball Captains Practice begins this week : Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:45-5:15 in the main gym.  Contact [email protected] or one of your captains with questions.

Seniors-This is a reminder that the Yearbook needs key information from you for the Yearbook. The main things needed are your senior photo, baby photo, and your senior quote. All of these things are due  December 1st. We also recommend that you buy a Yearbook NOW. The Yearbook is currently at the lowest price it will be all year. To purchase:

Congratulations to the following two students for being selected to the Gustavus High School Honor Band Festival - Tyler Janey and Madeline Ngo. They will spend two days learning along side other top band students in the five state area. Congratulations Tyler and Madeline!
 Simley Nordic will hold an informational meeting for students interested in Nordic skiing outside of the ski room on Friday, Nov 4th at 3:30 pm.  All students grades 7-12 are welcome, no experience needed.  We offer fitness, fun and friends.  Make winter great!  Please email Coach Anderson if you are interested, but can't attend the meeting. 
Are you looking for something to do this winter (December thru April) and are not participating in any winter athletics or programs? Do you like computer programming and coding? How about designing a web page, T-shirt or a logo? Maybe you like pneumatics, drive trains and welding and designing a vehicle? If you said yes to any of these, maybe FIRST Robotics is for you. There will be a meeting, pre-season, this Wednesday in room EA109 from 3:30 to 4:30. No experience necessary, just the willingness to learn, have fun and be part of a team.  If you are interested but cannot make the meeting, Call 651-306-7110, e-mail [email protected] or stop by Mr. Fisher's room and let him know. Is you son interested in joining the BOYS SWIMMING AND DIVING team? 9th-12th Grade Season begins Monday, Nov. 28th.  No one “sits on the bench” during games and there are no cuts from the team. There will be a meeting at 8:10am this Friday in Mr. Mitchell's room. Bring your clothing design ideas to share with the group. Gustavus Adolphus College will be here today at 9:25 AM and UW-Superior will be here today at 11:15 AM.   St. Cloud State University will be here on Thursday at 1:35 PM. 

Repeat Announcements: Attention seniors: Please schedule your senior meeting with your counselor. The only way to order your cap and gown is by having your senior meeting so it is very important that you schedule your meeting. Reminder-Blankets are not allowed to be worn at school for health and safety reasons.  Students are encouraged to dress in layers as some learning spaces vary in temperature. 

AP exam registration begins today! AP students will be receiving registration information from their AP teachers this week. Students must have a College Board account and enter their class join code AND pay for the exam on the Infinite Campus store to have an exam ordered for them. Deadline is Friday, November 4th, no exceptions.  

 

Basketball Open Gym - Must present Student ID at door to attend. Students without Simley ID's will not be able to enter the gym. Open Gym is only for Simley students only.

 

Simley Co-Ed High School Bowling Club:Do you have a son or daughter in 7th through 12th grade that is interested in bowling for the Simley Co-Ed High School Bowling Club? Any level of bowler is welcome. If interested, please contact Gary Salzman(coach) at [email protected] for more information.

Bus Drivers Needed! ISD 199 is looking for more bus drivers and bus driver subs! Before and after school shifts are available, 4 hours per day are guaranteed, up to $23.25 per hour plus paid training, and full benefits at 25 hours per week. Learn more and apply at www.isd199.org/careers.
