Yesterday the Simley Cross Country team made history at the Section 3AA Championships. The Spartans had 3 athletes qualify for the state meet, the first time in school history that two girls have qualified in the same year and the first time 3 athletes have in the same year. The qualifiers were Megan Gullerud, Abi Lindquist, and Kaiden Schrandt. Megan broke her own school record again in a time of 19:20, Abi Lindquist is now 3rd in school history with a time of 19:47, and Kaiden is 8th on the boys side with a time of 16:35. Also earning personal best times in their final 5ks of the season were Tyler Ngo, Zoe Diaz, Colin Fischbach, and Derek Buck. Both squads finished in 8th place. A special shout to seniors Colin Fischbach, Blake Stinnett, and alternate Jonas Frahm as it was their final time donning the Simley uniform for a Cross Country race.
