The Simley Girls Hockey Team is having an All-You-Can-Eat Taco Feed Fundraiser on Saturday, October 29th from 12-4pm at the Moose Lodge.  We will also have a meat raffle and bake sale at the event.
Last Tuesday the Simley Cross Country Teams competed at the Metro East Conference Championships. The Spartans came away with 14 personal bests, 5 Conference Honors, and One New School Record. On the Boys Side Kaiden Schrandt became the highest finisher since 2011 with his 3rd place finish, breaking the 17 minute barrier for the first time. His time of 16:55 makes him the 9th fastest performer in school history and is now faster than Coach Gerber was in High School. Tyler Ngo earned All-Conference Honorable Mention with a 21st place finish. On the Girls side Megan Gullerud finished runner-up, breaking her own school record in a time of 19:32. Abi Lindquist finished 3rd and Maisy Komatsu earned All-Conference Honorable Mention with a 20th place finish, breaking 23 minutes and becoming the 14th fastest performer in school history. The Boys finished 6th and Girls 4th in the team standings. The JV XC runners finish up their season today at the Lefty Wright Grade Level Championships in Crystal and the Varsity compete again on Thursday at the Section 3AA Meet.

Tomorrow night the Cross Country team is having a fundraiser at Inver Grove Brewing Co. from 4-10 p.m. 10% of all food and other orders go to support the Cross Country teams. Come out and support! Are you looking for something to do this winter (December thru April) and are not participating in any winter athletics or programs? Do you like computer programming and coding? How about designing a web page, T-shirt or a logo? Maybe you like pneumatics, drive trains and welding and designing a vehicle? If you said yes to any of these, maybe FIRST Robotics is for you. There will be a meeting, pre-season, this Wednesday in room EA109 from 3:30 to 4:30. No experience necessary, just the willingness to learn, have fun and be part of a team.  If you are interested but cannot make the meeting, Call 651-306-7110, e-mail [email protected] or stop by Mr. Fisher's room and let him know. "Attention German club members. There will be a meeting on Friday in Mr. Mitchell's room EA203 at 8am. Please sign up for our event on Friday by this Wednesday using the link on the Schoology update." Winona State University will be here today at 1:35 PM. Hamline University will be here on Wednesday 10/26 at 10:20 AM and Iowa State University will be here Wednesday afternoon at 1:35 PM. 

Students taking the PSAT tomorrow should report to the North Gym right away in the morning- we will begin testing right away at 8:30 AM. Don't forget #2 pencils and a calculator!
There is a Math Team meeting tonight after school.  We will look at the schedule, talk about meets, and discuss the season.  Meet in Mr. Gingerich's room, WA 226.


Repeat Announcements: Reminder-Blankets are not allowed to be worn at school for health and safety reasons.  Students are encouraged to dress in layers as some learning spaces vary in temperature.

AP exam registration begins today! AP students will be receiving registration information from their AP teachers this week. Students must have a College Board account and enter their class join code AND pay for the exam on the Infinite Campus store to have an exam ordered for them. Deadline is Friday, November 4th, no exceptions.  

Tryouts for the Winter Competitive Dance Team will be the week of October 24th. Practice on Monday, October 24th is from 5:30-6:45pm and 7-8:15pm, and practice on Tuesday, October 25th from 4-5:15pm. Tryout announcements and team placement will be on Tuesday, October 25th starting at 5:30pm. All practices will take place in the high school dance room. Please register for tryouts online using the link or the QR code on the tryout signs.

Basketball Open Gym - Must present Student ID at door to attend. Students without Simley ID's will not be able to enter the gym. Open Gym is only for Simley students only.
