Virtual Winter Conferences Begin February 2
The first night of conferences will be held on Wednesday, February 2, instead of Tuesday, February 1. Conferences will be virtual to prioritize in-person learning. Click here for more information about conferences.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is seeking applicants for their Young Scholars Program. The program is open to current eligible 7th graders. The program consists of a five-year, pre-college scholarship that includes:
- Planning and goal-setting
- Funding for academic and extracurricular opportunities
- Annual summer programs
- Peer networking
The application opens Monday, February 7, and closes Monday, May 9; students can apply here. We wanted to send this info as early as possible to give students time to prepare, as the application requires responses to short-answer/essay questions, parent forms, recommendations, and copies of their report card.

La Fundación Jack Kent Cooke está buscando candidatos para su Programa de jóvenes académicos. El programa está abierto a los estudiantes de 7º grado elegibles actuales. El programa consiste en una beca preuniversitaria de cinco años que incluye:
- Planificación y establecimiento de objetivos
- Financiamiento para oportunidades académicas y extracurriculares
- Programas anuales de verano
- Redes de pares
La aplicación abre el lunes 7 de febrero y cierra el lunes 9 de mayo; los estudiantes pueden aplicar aquí. “Now more than ever, it’s critical that we provide our children with equitable opportunities to develop mental health and wellness skills to support their long-term health, as well as their success later in life,” said Jennifer Siebel Newsom. Developed through a $25 million grant from the state of California, this project aims to give teachers and parents foundational tools to help children manage their emotions, normalize conversations about emotional wellbeing and teach essential coping skills. Middle School students are not allowed to stay after school and wander the hallways. Middle School students are only allowed to be in the building after school if they are on an IGHMS or Simley High School athletic team. Students who want to attend an event after school in either building must be accompanied by an adult.

IMPORTANT: Parents/Guardians: We know that sometimes it’s necessary for you to come to school to pick up your student during the school day. Please send a note with your student in the morning if you can. Your student should come to the main office in the morning with the note to get a pass. If you need to contact us during the day to let us know about picking up your student- please try to call at least 1 hour before you need the student to be excused. Attendance Line is 651-306-7878
We try to limit interruptions to class and following these suggestions can keep interruptions to learning to a minimum and get your student to the office more efficiently.

All middle school students must be accompanied by an adult to sports events. Any student not accompanied by an adult will be turned away at the door.
