New Announcements:

Simley Girls Volleyball played an epic match against Two Rivers on Wednesday, October 13, in the friendly confines of the Kim Madigan gym. It was the annual traveling trophy non-conference contest and the Spartans kept “The Shield” home where it belongs, defeating the Warriors 25-16, 25-22, 15-25, 17-25,16-14. The gym was loud, the dogs were out, and the competing cheers from both spectator sides all added up to a classic high school volleyball match that was as close as the final set score indicated. Both teams had leads near the end of set five, but neither would let the other close out the match. But at 14-14 it was the Spartan Seniors time to bring it home. After Senior right side hitter Malia Miller had the biggest block of her volleyball career (this reporter cannot speak to how often Malia gets a block in basketball), Simley served for match point. First Senior setter Lauren Tuccitto kept the ball in play off a strong Two Rivers block, then Senior Libero Bella Studer made a beautiful set to Senior outside hitter Aadriana Epps, who tooled it cross court off the Warriors middle blocker. The entire team may have been on the court in a scrum even before the ball hit the floor and it wasn’t long until “the Shield” was dancing in the hands of the Spartans as they sang the Simley rouser, surprisingly in tune. No rest for Simley Girls Volleyball as they take on North St. Paul at home tonight for Senior Night.

Tonight is the last regular season Volleyball home game, and it is Senior Night!  Due to the large number of this year's Seniors, and a special recognition of last year's Seniors, the presentation will be held after the 7:00PM Varsity game.  You won't want to miss tonight's action!  Your Spartan Varsity team is fierce, and tonight's match against North should be exhilarating!
Come support Simley Cross Country Teams and enjoy great food at Inver Grove Brewing Co on Monday Oct 18th 3-9pm. IGBC will donate 10% of all sales (dine-in, patio, takeout, bar, online order for pickup,  merchandise). No flyers needed!

Spartan Football Fans: If you are planning on attending the game at Mahtomedi Friday night you must purchase tickets online.  You can find the link to purchase tickets on the Metro East Conference website.
