New Announcements:

Congratulations to Boys Swimming and Diving team on their 2021 Section 1A Championship win yesterday. This is the first year in Simley swim and dive history that the team has both the Conference Championship and the Section championship! 

Individual medal winners were: Andy Watts placed 6th in the 200 free; Eric Schroeder placed 7th in the 200 IM & 7th in the 100 back; Dominick Olaes placed 5th in the 200IM & 7th in the 100 Fly;  Hunter Dilla placed 8th in the 50 free; Ethan Gregg placed 7th in the 50 free & 6th in the 100 fly; Austin Penttila placed 6th in diving; John Tabor placed 7th in the 500 free; Joseph Waska placed 4th in the 500 free & 5th in the 100 breaststroke; Hunter Collins placed 6th in the 100 breaststroke. The team of Eric Schroeder, Joseph Waska, Ethan Gregg, and Hunter Dilla placed 4th in the 200 Medley Relay.

 

A special congratulations to the following STATE qualifiers; Brandon Petryszyn placed 3rd in the 200 IM (state) & 2nd in the 500 free (state); Nico Losinski placed 2nd in the 200 free (state) and is the SECTION champion in the 500 free (state); and Marioys Makar is the SECTION champion in the 1-meter diving (state) . The team of Hunter Dilla, Ethan Jie, Brandon Petryszyn, & Nico Losinski placed 2nd in the 200 Free Relay (State), and the team of Brandon Petryszyn, Ethan Gregg, Ethan Jie, and Nico Losinski placed 2nd in the 400 free relay (state).

 

The Spartans next meet is the State Championship on Saturday, March 20th at noon at the University of Minnesota.

The application deadline for TriDistrict CAPS has been extended through Wednesday, March 17! Don't wait to apply for TriDistrict CAPS programs in the career areas of Transportation, Healthcare, and Business & Entrepreneurship.  Have questions?  Talk with your counselor.

Lifetouch Picture Make-Ups/Retakes have been scheduled for the following dates. If you have not picked up your photos and/or ID from trimester 1, please do so in the main office. - Monday, March 22  for ALL Group A students (Hybrid & Online) 8:30am - 3pm - Thursday, March 25 for ALL Group B students (Hybrid & Online) 8:30am - 3pm

Seniors in Hybrid: During trimester 3, seniors with study halls at the beginning or the end of the school day may request a study hall release.  If a study hall is the middle of the day, students must remain in that study hall.  Study hall release forms are available in the main office.  Also, there is no lunch release for trimester 3.

Parking Permits for Trimester 3 are available to purchase in SmartSchoolk12 via parent portals. Purchased permits will be given to students once the application has been processed.  Reminder that students are only allowed to park in the Student Lot unless otherwise specified. 

 

 

Trap Team Parents and Athletes:

Registration for the 2021 Spring Clay Target Trap season is open and athletes who were registered for last season should have received an email with an invite to register. We will be holding a virtual meeting for new athletes on Monday March 15th and returning athletes on Tuesday March 16th from 7:00-8:00 PM. Link for the meeting will be posted on our Facebook page and on our team calendar.

Students interested in a career pathway program for next year- make sure you register for the course as a part of your registration. Some programs have additional requirements. 

Juniors interested in Genesys Works are required to complete an application (deadline March 7th), which can be found at: https://genesysworks.tfaforms.net/4652060.

Sophomores and Juniors interested in one of the three TriDistrict Programs (healthcare, transportation or business) are required to complete an application (deadline March 17th), which can be found at:https://bit.ly/simleycareer2021

Free Meals for All Kids

Inver Grove Heights Schools is providing Free Meal Boxes to ALL children, ages 18 and younger. Families will no longer need to pre-order meals, and any child will be able to pick up a Free Meal Box, whether they are an ISD 199 student or not. 

 

Free Meal Boxes will be available for pick-up at 12 distribution sites, some in the afternoon and some in the evening. Click here for each Free Meal Box site’s day, time, and location.

High School Spring Sports start March 29 In order to get your son/daughter registered for sports you need to follow the link below to our new registration site; SmartSchool K12. When you arrive at the home site of the user portal, you will see guides available that will walk you through the registration process and setting up your parent portal, step by step.

When you are connecting your student to your parent account, you will need the STUDENT ID and their DATE OF BIRTH. You WILL NOT use a family key. 

Once you are registered and you have added your student to your account, please make sure to go into your settings and add a "Funding Source". This will allow you to complete your purchases upon checkout. Do not auto-fill this section as it will not work due to security reasons.

Earlier this Fall we had a lot of issues with different browsers when families were registering. Please attempt to use FireFox, as it is the most successful.
