PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE!   URGENT REQUEST - The Simley All Night Party committee NEEDS volunteers for Friday, June 7th. Junior and sophomore parents are encouraged to help out. The All Night Party is held every year the night of graduation to provide the graduating class a safe & fun environment to celebrate their graduation with their class. Various duties & shifts are available. Please consider volunteering for this great event.  Here is the link:

Message From the Nurse

All medications including prescription and over the counter medications will be returned to students to take home on Monday, June 3rd.  Students will be instructed to put the medication directly in their backpack to bring home. No medication can be carried over into the next school year.  Any medication remaining at school at noon on Friday June 7th will be disposed of.

Any parent that does not want medication sent home with their child should notify the school nurse, Dawn Erdman, at 651-306-7014 or [email protected]  so other arrangements can be made.



Still thinking about the Summer College Road Trip? Applications will be accepted through Wednesday so get them in today! Bring a friend, parent, or just yourself and take advantage of this excellent opportunity to get on college campuses and learn what might be a good fit school for your post-secondary education! Applications can be picked up in the Career Center or Counseling Office.



Hybrid students:  Please return your hybrid cards to your hybrid teachers this week, or bring them to the main office.




All students registered for AP Art next year must attend a mandatory meeting after school, Monday, June 3 at 2:40 in Gilby's room.  This will take 10 minutes.


Reminder to any student who had artwork in the Art Show, please pick up your artwork  in the art rooms.




Attention all returning Cross Country runners and those who may want to be put on Varsity on in the fall. There will be a meeting with Coach Gerber after school today in his room WA216 from 2:35 to 3:00 p.m.



Attention all Track & Field athletes. Today is clean up day, starting at 3:00 p.m. There will be treats provided. The Track and Field banquet is this Wednesday, please RSVP to Coach Schwanz with the number of attendees.



Prom pictures from the Grand March are available for pick up today. The photos are set on a table by Room EA211 near the ALP hallway.

All students must be in attendance (including in study halls) unless excused by parent.

1st hour exam 7:40 a.m. - 9:25 a.m.

3rd hour exam 9:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

5th hour Regular Class/Lunch

6th hour exam 12:45 p.m. -  2:30 p.m.


Wednesday - June 5, 2019 (NO LATE START)

Only those students who have classes 4th and 5th periods come to school.

4th hour exam 7:40 a.m. -  9:20 a.m.

5th hour exam 9:25 a.m. - 11:05 a.m.*


Thursday – June 6, 2019

Only those students who have classes 2nd and 7th periods come to school.

2nd hour exam 7:40 a.m. -  9:20 a.m.

7th hour exam 9:25 a.m. - 11:05 a.m.*

*Buses will arrive by 11:05 in their regular spot behind the building to pick up students on Wednesday and Thursday.





Upcoming College Visits:

A representative from the following colleges will be visiting Simley at the specified dates and times. If you are interested in learning more about a college and hearing from an admission representative from their school, sign-up and get a pass from Ms. Kimble in the Student Center

2019 Simley Soccer Camp:  All Fall 2019 Simley soccer players please sign up for their summer soccer camp ASAP. The boys’ soccer camp runs from 9-11 AM on July 15-18.  The girls’ soccer camp runs from 10-12 PM on July 8-11. All camp information and registration details can be found on the Simley Soccer website (www.simleysoccer.com).  Open for players entering 8-12 grade in the fall of 2019.

 

2019 Simley Soccer Captains Practice:  Boys and Girls Captains Practice will be held the weeks of July 29 and August 5 with time to be determined.  Further information will be posted on the Simley Soccer website (www.simleysoccer.com ).  Open for players entering 8-12 grade in the fall of 2019

 

2019 Simley Soccer Tryouts:  Boys tryouts will be held from 9:30-11 AM and 3-4:30 PM on August 12-16, Mini Tournament: Saturday August 17 at Simley.  Team to be determined. Girls tryouts will be held from 8-9:30 AM (M-F) and 5-6:30 PM (M-Th) on August 12-16.  Scrimmages at Hastings on Saturday, August 17; players to be determined by Coach Austin.

Attention all girls interested in gymnastics. Information for the summer gymnastics camp is available in Ms. Walsh's classroom EA 208 or from Ms. Young-Dahl in the Dean's office.



Attention All 7th through 12th grade students that are interested in bowling for the Simley Co-Ed High School Bowling Club.  Our Co-Ed 2019 season will begin in September.  Any level of bowler is welcome. If so, please contact Gary Salzman (coach) at [email protected]  for more information.  Practices will start mid-August.








IMPORTANT DATES FOR SENIORS:


June 7 - Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal @ 8 a.m.  Meet in the gymnasium.

June 7 - Graduation Ceremony @ 7:30 p.m.



Spartan Trained Summer Speed & Strength Program - June 10 through August 8

For: Athletes entering grades 7-12.

Cost: $100.  The family max for fees is not applicable to the Summer programs.

Session Times:

   7:00-8:00 A.M.  - High school boys & girls entering 9th-12th grade

   8:00 - 9:00 A.M. - High School girls entering 9th-12th grade

   9:00 A.M. -10:00 A.M. - High School boys entering 9th-12th grade

  10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. - All middle school boys & girls entering 7th & 8th grade

Reminder to Simley students - You are NOT allowed to be in the middle school. This includes cutting through the middle school in the morning and afternoons when arriving to or leaving from school.
