Simley photo opportunity for Class of 2020 graduatesAs the 2019-2020 school year came to a close and Simley High School set up its virtual graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020, the school reserved July 24 in hopes of holding a traditional graduation ceremony. Unfortunately, even by late July, conditions still prohibited large gatherings such as a graduation ceremony. Simley surveyed Class of 2020 graduates about their interest in a summer recognition event. About half of the class responded that they weren't interested in a summer event, but many students still were.

So on July 23 and 24, Simley set up the Performing Arts Center with its typical graduation ceremony decorations and invited graduates and their families to stop by for photos. Grads and their families were welcomed into the PAC one at a time, Principal Jerry Sakala and Assistant Principal Heidi Klukas read the graduate's name as the student crossed the stage, and families were able to take photos of and with their grad. Thank you to all of the families who took advantage of the opportunity, and congratulations to our graduates!
