Simley Marching Band at the Minnesota State FairOn Tuesday, August 27, the Simley High School Marching Band competed in the Minnesota State Fair’s 2019 High School Marching Band Competition. On each day of the fair, marching bands from around the tri-state area performed. They were judged on music general effect, music execution, visual effect, and marching execution.

Even rain and hail didn’t stop the Simley Marching Band from winning first place in the overall musical category for the day, surpassing Lakeville South, Farmington, LaCrescent, and Iowa’s Clear Lake high schools! Overall, Simley took second place, just after Farmington, for the day. The band earned its second highest score in the history of Simley Marching Band: 75.1, which was only slightly lower than last year’s marks. Congratulations to the Simley High School Marching Band on its outstanding efforts!
