Atheneum Students Bring Home State Chess Trophies

State Chess Champions for grades K-3Five Atheneum Gifted Magnet Program students in 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade placed in the Minnesota State Chess Association 2019 Scholastic Championship! Aarav S., Anvith P., Nivrit K., and Rishik K. became the state champions for grades K-3. They had a combined score of 11 wins and 5 losses, which resulted in them winning the championship by a wide margin. Aarav, Anvith, and Suhaas P. competed in the K-5 championship and brought home the 3rd place trophy. Congratulations to all of the students!

Aarav continued his winning streak in March. He placed 2nd in the Grades 2-3 section at the Youth Enrichment League's 2019 Osseo Open Chess Tournament.
