mshsl.orgSimley High School hosted the Region 3AA MSHSL Instrumental Solo & Ensemble Competition on March 10. Four schools were represented: Richfield, Henry Sibley, St. Thomas Academy, and Simley. Each band student or ensemble prepared a musical selection and presented it to a judge. They were graded in the following areas: tone quality, intonation, rhythm, balance and blend, technique, interpretation, articulation, and execution.

Simley had 118 students participating in 95 entries. Nearly all of the entries received the two highest scores: 50 received a “Superior” rating and 41 received an “Excellent” rating.

Congratulations to Curtis Hance, who performed on French Horn, on receiving “Best of Site” from his judge.

Thank you to all the parents and students who helped make this event a success!
