Educator of Excellence Award winner Colleen ParkerMinnesota nonprofit organization BestPrep prepares students with business, career, and financial literacy skills through hands-on experiences that inspire success in work and life. Each year, the organization presents the Educator of Excellence Award to teachers, volunteers, and sponsors who go above and beyond in their commitment to educating Minnesota youth. This year, Simley High School teacher Colleen Parker was chosen to receive the award. Though more than 600 educators are nominated every year, the award only goes to the top 2%.

Ms. Parker was recognized for her participation and support in two of BestPrep’s professional and financial programs for students. She did outstanding work in the Classroom Plus Program, which teaches students business and career skills necessary to professional success, and the Financial Matters Program, which develops students’ money management skills. Ms. Parker will be honored in a May 23 luncheon in Downtown Minneapolis.
