Title I

About the Program

Salem Hills Elementary has a Schoolwide Title One Program. The schoolwide program’s primary goal is to ensure that all students, particularly those who show a need for an academic intervention, demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement of State academic achievement standards. Students at Salem Hills Elementary School who show a need for extra support on specific reading or math skills are given the opportunity to be provided with academic support during the regular school day.

Conferences

Families will receive information about the Title One program and be provided a compact during conferences.

Extra Academic Support

Reading benchmark assessments are given to all students at Salem Hills three times a year.  Based on these results and classroom teacher input, students may receive extra academic support.  Groups are formed and students receive small group instruction during the regular school day.  These groups are fluid to best match student current academic needs.

Parents have the right to request information about a teacher's professional qualifications.  If you are interested in obtaining educational history or other qualifications, please contact Human Resources at 651-306-7823.

Parent Involvement

Salem Hills Elementary School values parent involvement and we encourage families to connect with staff during family connections, conferences, and families events.

Inver Grove Heights Schools and Salem Hills Elementary have Parent Involvement Plans. The Parent Involvement Plan is reviewed yearly with Title One Staff and Parents.
