Viktor and Pine Bend students learn how to stop bullyingOctober is Bullying Prevention Awareness month, so Pine Bend Elementary School students learned how to stop bullying with the help of Viktor the Viking and Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders. Viktor and his friends taught students their S.T.O.P. Bullying method: Stand up to bullying, Take appropriate action, Open up to an adult about the details of the incident, and Protect yourself and others.

Viktor called some of his friends on the Vikings team and staff to help explain. They talked about different aspects of bullying, such as the different kinds of bullying and the roles people play in bullying, and how to prevent it.

By the end of the presentation, students were able to identify the bully, the person being bullied, and the bystanders who watched the situation in clips that showed examples of bullying. Before the end of the assembly, students pledged to S.T.O.P. bullying.
